It's fairly simple, first off, do you want to pull only the motor, or the motor and transmission? Either way, basically what you have to do, is disconnect everything holding the motor/transmission to the car (motor mounts, transmission, crossmembers, driveshaft, hoses, wires) then you attatch a cherry picker to the motor (somewhere solid) and you lift the motor up and out of the engine bay. Remember not to unbolt the engine mounts before the cherry picker is attached and ready to lift, or there is something supporting the motor. You don't want the motor to be unsupported. Just use common sense, obviously anything in the way needs to be removed, and anything attaching to both the car and the motor, needs to be unattached. If you dont care about the car the engine is being removed from (it's going to the wrecker for example), dont bother carefully unattaching the wires and hoses, cut them off (this will save time). It is also a good idea to mark the wires and hoses somehow, so you will know where they go when you are putting it back in (masking tape and a pen are good for this). There are many places you can rent a cherry picker (engine hoist) from, and fairly cheaply too. But you will need basic hand tools, a cherry picker, a floor jack, jack stands...basic shop tools, having someone who has done this before would also be nice, or at the very least you will probably need another helper. This can be time consuming, and you may damage your vehicle. By the way, if you are an idiot, do not attempt this, you may damage your vehicle, or worse, yourself.
If you have any more questions, ask, I will answer to the best of my knowledge. But the first thing you should do is ask yourself a few questions; Do you feel confident that you can do this? Do you have the neccesary tools to accomplish this? Once you have taken this motor out, will you be able to put it back in again(anyone can take it apart, putting it back in can be hard if you don't know what your doing)? Do you have a proper work space (covered garage, with flat, level, hard suface...no gravel)? Can you afford to have this vehicle out of comission for at least a week? And lastly, are you at all mechancially inclined?

Good, at least you have someone you can go to if you hit trouble. You should be alright, but make sure you know exactly what you have to do before you start.
