a few qustions about the f1

hello you prolly have never seen me round these parts but im an avid car guy (mostly domestics) and ive heard things about the F1 like its the fastest production car built etc. im curious, how many were built as of today? are they still in production? what are they worth (i can only imagine)what do they have for power? and there top speed?

if somone could clear this up id appreciate it ty, badassgremlin

A total of 100 cars were built 64 road cars. Production stopped in 1998 but mclaren still services all of the cars. Depending on miles a road can can be around 1.2 all the way up to 2mil. It has a bmw engine with 627hp dont know the torque. And the famous top speed of 240mph

Okay, so here I am guessing about the total number of Chassis >MADE< including the destroyed ones. Ok we have 100 right, then the 5 XPS, then the clinic Car. then the one built out of spare parts, then the one made from spare chassis 101, or are those two the same? Fill me in Peloton or XOTech. When I say 100 cars previously, does that include the two other XPs 56XPGT and XP1LM? So if they are all separte that brings a total of 110 Cars.

Thanks Chris, but how many chassis, working and not working made? will all the rebuild you could make 10 cars a month with the spare parts,

-Mike

ps: how much did Blair pay for xp4?
Are prototypes significantly cheaper than normal F1s?

Re: a few qustions about the f1

109 chassis made i believe (clinic car and hitasuma (sp?) car)

as for the prototype question, i actually don't know how much he paid off hand, although i have the number 1.4 in my head for some reason, i could be way off tho. I don't think that prototypes would be cheaper. XP4 would be the only prototype sold (xp1 crashed, xp2 was wrecked in crash testing and xp3 was totalled by bernd peichstreider (sp?), former bmw president i believe). If anything, it would be more, altho it is up to production spec now i believe, altho i think tvrfreak may know a bit more about it than me .

I thought that XP4 was given (for free) to a relative of Bruce McLaren in the states and Blair looks after the car for him. Also, small bits of DA make me believe that XP2 was never written off and was used as a development car right up to when production started. Check out the thread "Fate of the XPs" for more info.

BTW: The hitasuma (or whatever) car is down on JGTC team lists as 019R, which obviously can't be true.

I never ask how much something costs. If I find out indirectly, I will post it here, but I would never pose a personal question like that to an owner. When I am asked how much something costs, I always sidestep the question by saying something like, "I don't remember" or "It was a gift."

Apart from the buyer and seller, it's simply nobody else's business.
