Question what's the diff w/ jdm sir headlights and hood?

hey everytime i go to a jdm parts sight they tell me the 88-91 sir hood will not fit unless you buy the headlights too, i was just wondering if anyone had some pics to show me the difference cause i'm sure it looks good but what does it look like.

Thumbs up Re: what's the diff w/ jdm sir headlights and hood?

The difference in Jdm headlights is that they are a lil bit more adngled unlike your factory headlights, and the hood is made to fit those headlights only! The hood is also made with the center dip in the hood going up instead of coming down, because the base model Dx in Japan had a Zc in it and without that hood coming up instead of coming down it would hit the Valve cover.Just look around on Zc swaps and see if u can see and dents in the driver side back side of the hood where the valve cover would be hitting. You could make it work with some custom modifycation. So if u need any more help with anything or anymore questions feel free to email me at w8nsee_ef9@hotmail.com

. dude i'm not sure what kind of mounts but if you get the jdm clone mounts for your zc it may rub the hood a little but no biggie new hood will help but not necessary, ask around. anyhow, zc hoods don't need new headlamps just SiR hoods.

. and all i'm trying to find is pictures of how it's different from a regular hood and headlamp set. all i'm asking about is asthetics.

. and all courage the cowardly dog is trying to do is sit in murel's lap and get his ears scratched while she rocks in a rocking chair.

sir headlights are wider... therfore you need a 'sir' hood and a jdm front bumper as well.

quite expensive but well worth it.

below is shown a jdm front end... where the red line is, is about where the usdm headlights end.

and here is a jdm front end.

No you don't I had a ZC and have a B16 now and it clears the hood fine, the ZC did require a few thick washers the shimm down the drivers side mount but that's about it.

and what do hadlight have to do with a ZC the ZC hood is identical to the stock USDM hood only it has a Bulge. it fit's our cars fine no need to change the headlights. the SiR hood is a diff story, the SiR hood bulges out not in (think small cowl induction) and the headlights are slightly different.

JDM headlights only have 1 reflector in them, unlike USDM with two.

that's just a jdm zc cf hood, it's not a usdm hood w/ zc bump. they are one and the same yo.

good point
what i was trying to show was that if you swap a zc, i think one of the cheapest ways to get your hood to fit perfect is if you get a cf sc hood,
if you want the sir hood cause of looks then best of luck to ya
