CPS/distributor wire color diagram
just put in a JDM 7mgte and somehow the wire to the CPS(cam position sensor) or distributor got cut. i was wonder if anyone has a 7mgte that can tell me how the colors goes to connect to the CPS. there were two black wire, one red and one brown. one balck wire is the bottom right because that was the only one that wasn't cut. now can anyone tell me the other 3 goes? i've check and played and it does spark and everthing but just want to make sure it's right. and what's the correct position of the gear in the CPS so the timing can be correct. i see that there is a mark in the shaft but then on the gear there is a whole and the there is two others on each side of that seems to have a pin in them. how do i position that to make timing TDC?

Re: CPS/distributor wire color diagram
Actually theres only one black wire, theres a red, blue, black, and yellow (the yellow might look alittle brown though after 15 years). Heres how to read the wiring diagram
http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/d/D_01.html And heres the CPS diagram http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/d/D_34.html One more showing the CPS http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/librar.../ig/IG_16.html Ne = Red G1 = Green G- = White G2 = Yellow As for the CPS timing check this page http://cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/ig/IG_24.html http://cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/ig/IG_21.html Make sure the engine is at TDC (compression). It's pretty much self explanitory. |
