No, I don't think any cam makes power that high in Hondas.
Most guys at the most redline at around 9200 max.. I mean, those would be with like Toda 3s or something.. I don't even know if they need to rev that high.. I doubt it. I don't know too much aboot cams, but the whole "My buddy has a motor with an 11,000rpm redline OR My SOHC with a sweedish intake makes power to 9000rpm." is pretty much all hype. People don't need to rev that high.

haha...yeah...looking at that kit I don't even see a camor any head parts...So they build a bottom end that will rev to 12,000 RPM, but they don't bother to send you anything to keep the valves from floating -

I think 10k is reasonable for a Honda, my buddy's GSR engine (modded of course) goes to 9,500rpm, and I bet he could go to 10k, but his cams don't make much power that high. I still think 12k would kick ass, that's like the Formula Atlantic engine they have in some AE86's.

If I had a motor that would rev to 12K I would do it. Even if it didnt make power I would just do it cause I could. Theres nothing better than RPM's to heal the soul.

i wouldnt ... high rpm all the time will shorten the life of your engine ... like the idiots that rev their cars beyond the factory redline on their stock civic dx's .. your car stops making power before redline, so stop being an idiot.

from what i hear you can just buy a spoon engine that redlines anywhere from 11000 to 15000rpm, but the engines costlike 10,000. But dont quote me on this.

One of my best friends has a Gs-r with a B18C5, fully built bottom end, turbo, boosting about 24psi, with an ITR head and GS-r cams, stand alone fuel delivery system, etc. etc. His last 1/4 was 11.6 on pump gas and a full interior, and he has his redline set to 9200. He used to have it at 10,000, but the motor just can't make power that high, and he was always shifting between 8500 and 9K rpm, since his power drops off drastically after that point. There is just no reason to try to spin one of these motors that fast. Unless you have a crazy bottom end with a crazy valvetrain to match it, you're just asking to rebuild and replace parts on a regular basis. Also, my Dad used to say, "Stupid people are always saying stupid stuff to sound smart. It doesn't make you any smarter if you believe them."

I dont know what that spoon package is capable, so i wont bother commenting on that...
However, i do vaguely remember watching a best motoring video (i think) with the title being something like "battle at 9 thousand rpm". Point is, there was a Ef8 Crx with wait.......i know that car...hold on while i get my hyper rev magazine.. Ok yea here it is....its the SS work's crx. My japanese is rusty, but from the pictures i can see some incarnation of the b18 vtec motor, with individual throttle bodies and all kinds of electronics. This car has a very large wing on the back, and for once...it is completely necessary. Unlike what i see daily, driving down my street. This car beat out a host of FR and FF cars in a endurance race, including a few nsx's. Watching the video, i dont believe rpm needle ever stop being pinned. I think the car redlined somewhere up around 12,800 rpm. I saw this video a long time back, can anyone back this up?

Making peak power at 9000rpm is nothing close to 11,000 or any of that crazy talk that was being said. 9000 isn't too unresonable considering stock CTR cams will make peak power at something like 8,300rpm.
I love 8k everyday.. Driving something with a 6000 redline would seem totally weird to me now.
