Toyota Celica ST165 Rally

Hi guys!

Let's start new transkit? ;-)

I prepared many parts for it, I think this transkit will be with engine, good PE set and for different rally pilots.

Let's do it together :-)

Here is what I have.

1990 safari:

1991 Monte Carlo:

Unfortuntaly I lost a lot of picture in a computer crash last year, so I don't have more about Kankkunen anymore...
Most of my pics had been taken here and there on forums on Internet in general so may be able to find more.
Especially about 1991 Sainz's winning car.
I also have some other pics in books, just have to take pics of them.

Just a clue I'm thinking about, pay attention to the Marlboro stickers, most of the brands makers made them red but it's fluo red !

Re: Toyota Celica ST165 Rally

Cool project! My "wishlist to Santa Claus" is a bit longer again

I built that Australian winner version a couple of years ago. Too bad that I couldn't find proper engine pics so only a curbside! Difficult was the trunk/ backseat area to find photos, but it's the difficult part in every rallycar to find reference photos.
Because I couldn't find either Studio27 transkit or Modeler's decals for 89' Australia winner, I had to scratchbuild needed parts, and draw and print decals myself.

Here's my building topic, although in finnish! Luckily photos are understandable for everyone!

http://www.fcma.fi/FCMABBS/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7413

Here is a link fott some of the reference photos I've collected for this project.

http://rallimallarit.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=45

I've got more reference photos somewhere, I'll post them here when I find them.

Re: Toyota Celica ST165 Rally

Bottom view.

I have 2 bottom parts, Hasegawa's and Tamiya's. Tamiya's is ideal for 165 body, but not true in all parts. Hasegawa's is too short. I think, I will done how in fotos:

That do you think, that is true?

Re: Toyota Celica ST165 Rally

Except for the front part, the white (which is tamiya if I'm not wrong) chassis is more accurate, especially center part.

For the seats, I would say none is perfectly accurate... Will see if I can find a pic ot it

Re: Toyota Celica ST165 Rally

Found this like photo, not good, but according this one, the white metal seat is more accurate about the shape of the kevlar structure..

Re: Toyota Celica ST165 Rally

Import crankcase from tamiya's bottom to engine block. Will use with gearbox.
