what kind of bass do you want? loud crzy bass that can be heard a block away or more of a mellow type?

to tell you the truth, you are like on the same buget i was on, no more than 1000. i got a crazy little system for around 800. if i were you, buy your system from a custom audio shop that deal with competion brands not best buy or circuit city or other places like that. waste of money i think. i went though it. audio shops usually do a better job installing any way (unless you are doing it yourself)

for the 800 bucks i spent, i bought one 12" kove armageddon, a hart competition amp, and a computer built enclosure. not a whole lot of power only 400rms 800peak but this thing is nuts, louder than most two 12s i think

anyways, hope this helps, peace

well, from experience I could reccomend these, anything else around, I havent used yet.

but these sounded good and was very loud when I had one running, I couldnt imagine If i had both hooked up, and I didnt have this much power.

the subs I had were the AW1200X which is earlier models, the current ones are the AW1200Q audiobahn high excursions, they sell for 85 each on ebay and perform as good as the 225 dollar punch HX2 my friend bought.

but I had the audiobahn amp that says 1200 watts, but was really less. Id go with the JBL BP1200.1 tho, tested at 1411 watts RMS at 2 ohms. same power at 1 ohm tho. and sells for 275

but with 2 of the high excursions it is one amp, which will be harder on the amp. but would sound good and LOUD!

or if you got room, the ALUM12Q's are only 130 each, and dua;l 6 ohm coils so you could get 2 of thoise and have 1.5 ohms from 2, a lighter load on the amp and they are probably better than the AW1200Q's, a higher end model. 3 would be 1 ohm if you had the room.

so it would end up being 500 shipped for 1200 thefirst choice, or 545 or 675 for the aluminum choice, depending on wether you get 2 or 3.

I had one AW1200X running off of probably like only 450 watts or so, in a ~3 ft cubed ported box and my rear view mirror fell off all the time, bounced nickels 3 inches off my trunk and people couldnt even sit in the back seat or their ears hurt. and that wasnt even turned all the way up.

get what you want, but i guarantee you wont be dissapointed wiht Audiobahn subs.

I would go with 2 Adire Audio Shivas with a JBL 1200.1 amp, and then you may even have some money left to get some Crystal Mobilesound 6.5's!

why not go with 1 IDMAX and a good amp? it will displace a lot of air, which will be louder than 2 cheap subs and has tons of sound quality to spare.

well, i helped my girlfriend buy her system from HIFI Buys. she got what she liked, but she got one Eclipse 10" aluminum sub, a custom built vented enclosure, and a 600 watt RMS or so Xtant amp, all for about $800. i was quite suprised at how well HIFI Buys did with the box, and it hits harder than most sets of 2 12" subs i've heard. it has overwhelmed all of the dynamat Xtreme we can throw at it and still sounds very clean and hurts the ears if we try to push any kind of power through it.

If you can find a place that sells memphis then I would get their 1000d class D mono amp and two of their 12-in HP's. My cousin had that in his truck and I had an Audiobahn A2200HC 1600 @ 1-ohm rms amp pushing two of the aluminum 10-in subs. He parked his truck 10 ft. away and we both turned our stereos up, but I could still feel his even though I was sitting in my truck. Now I bought two Memphis 10-in HP's for $300 and I can tell the difference in my subs.

Rnt' Xtant really classy and kinda expensive ? i've seen in rarely in Lowrider and audio mags, but i've heard good things bout em', that and the price is high if yer gettin some of there more performance peices

cuz the amp can push the subs better, those luminums take alot of power and audiobahn amps are overrated. I used my A1300HCX which should have ben 600rms to one sub, then used a jbl BP300.1 whihc was suposed to be 300rms and it was about as loud as with the audiobahn. Iaint saying they are the best but for 80 bucks my subs HIT!
