How will this sound?....

I have a pair of Pioneer (TS-A168OR) 6-1/2" for my front doors, and Sony (XS-V1633) 6-12" for my rear deck. I am going to get 2-12" Sony Subs (2003 model) with a new 800w sony (2003 model) amp... will this system hit good? the subs are 350rms.... its going in a 1995 civic DX coupe... im wondering how good and loud and all that...

also, after this is all installed... where do i go from here? i got a 10 disc CD changer in the back, a 7" monitor for my headunit, and a dvd/mp3/cdr/cd player in the glove box....

add more subs? or where can i put more speakers? you tell me... thanks!!!!

If you havent already bought all that sony stuff, dont get it. Sony does not make good car audio products. What is your price range for all of this stuff? For amps Id look at JBL, those are pretty cheap and are really good quality, and for subs Id recommend kicker or alpine depending on what your price range is. Check out Ikesound.com, they have really good prices on all of this stuff, free shipping, and they are known to be reliable.

i think the next step would be a custom trunk install...are those pioneers component speakers? if they are, why not stick those in a kick pod, i bet the imaging would be a lot better

i also have sony products. the amps are not good quality at all. the amp hits overcurent and you cant get the full potential bump out of your subs. I have a pair of xplod 6/9's they distort badly. but the tens i bought seem to bump good with a new amp. (kenwood 600wt). its good to see some other audiophiles out there. i have 2 kenwood blue tornadoes in a mac 12 box with a rockford fosgate 200-1 amp. they hit very hard.

a little tip in your car audio. it is good to have a high quality head unit it improves the sound in your whole car audio system. Rember you get what you pay for.:smoker2:

So let's say I get a custom install on these 2 12" sony subs... what amp should i get for em... two amps with 350rms... so like 700+... dont wanna overpower em though... who reccomends what...

also, the pioneers aren't component speakers, i think im gonna get a pair for the kick panels

im starting to learn a little more about this stuff....

so yea, i guess i just need an amp....

mu headunit is the Sony XAV-7w.... the 7" dvd screen... i think sony makes good headunits, so ill be alright there... pioneers speakers sound fuckin GREAT, the rear deck speakers (sonys) will be... blah... and umm, the subs are good, i just need a good amp, and advice on component speaker sets... let me know!!!

Red face

Therez nothing wrong w/ Sony 2003 modelz, my friend has one , since almost when they first were on the shelves and still no probs at all. Not sure bout the Soney 2003 ampz tho.. but Sony subs aren't "bad car audio products" , they jus had a bad rep. But JBL does make some of the best car audio. Their Subs are just about the most reliable and best hitting subs out there. i wouldnt recomend Alpine at all if u want good bass tha hits so peepz in other carz notice it, unless u got a bunch of Amps. Go JBL , Kicker, or MTX. All 3 of them also make very good Amps. as for Speakers , whatever you want. But make sure u get your subs inclosed in a box for even better sound. Box w/window or open box, up to you. And for even more bass, get a Amp thats MONO.. ( ex: 1000W X 2 Channel ) = Amps made for subs only. all the power goez to yer subs boom

a 1000x2 watt amp isnt a mono amp, its a stereo amp that is probably bridgable.

get the JBL BP600.1 for those subs. the 1200.1 tested at 1411 watts rms @ 2 ohms, and is rated at 1200, so the 600.1 probably pushes around 700 so be careful not to push the subs too hard. and look at audiobahns subs, cheap prices and Ive had em, they are good subs, 85 bucks and they hit HARD.

I never did like sony too much except for head units. I think Memphis is one of the better brands on the market right now. They are loud and very clear. As for the amp, you can basically get whatever you want, cuz Sony's are pretty easy to push.
