^huh

I'm fine with my $20 DVD player and...um, watching what I bought a while ago since I haven't bought a DVD in a long time. *adverts eyes*

It isn't the same. Upconverting DVD players do an OK job and remove a good deal of dithering around objects. You would be able to see a clear difference but nothing like going from VHS to DVD.

Re: HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray: I think we have a winner.

the question I have about it all is that I run my dvds through a projector (onto a 10 foot screen). Is it really worth it because my crappy projector quality isn't going to match the H-D/Blu-Ray dvd players' output is it? Chances are i'd need a better projector to go with it.

^I definitely think you need a better projector to see the quality.

Add another blow to Blu-Ray:

Unless they change the price point I don't think they can survive.

Re: HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray: I think we have a winner.

Wow... Sony's own CEO saying that he dosent know how long it's going to last. Thats a major blow. They only people I have really seen pushing bluRay is Disney, who is still putting things out on DVD, and Sony themselves. I've been hearing a lot of hype with HD DVD. For a while there I thought they had fallon off the face of the earth.

Good riddance I say. Corporste battles are usually good for consumers, but this one just made it more complicated to buy movies. Like the article said, we don't care who wins; we just want the latest and greatest technology at the cheapest price
