? in park, rev up engine then it starts going up and down up and
Have a 99 chevy lumina with the 3.1 L (3100 SFI V6), also a 95 buick century with the same engine, they both will, while in park reving them up, once you reach a certain level start acting as though they are limited or something. Rev em up and they go up up up until they go up and down, up and down, up and down!!!!! Is there a limiter on these cars or is this a bad sensor of some sort? Appreciate any help.
Thanks Michael |

yes, there is a rev limiter. At about 4000 rpm's, right? Um, I think it only limits revving in park and neutral when the wheela arent turning. I know (I can at least) while driving, I can click it into neutral and rev all the way up, so thats how I know nothings wrong. I have only done this once. I know its bad to rev an engine really high. But yes, they both have a revlimiter. Nothing to worry about here.

Sure appreciate it, checked it out, it only does it in park, doesn't happen while driving. Thanks
