intake manifold gasket
2002 Rendezvous CXL. Intake manifold gasket is leaking antifreeze. Dealer says it is a common problem at about 75,000 miles. Any experience here? Engine is 3400. Dealer wants $1500 for repair, does this sound right? I replaced the intake manifold gasket on my Chevy Venture. About a days labor. Is this Rendezvous fix similar?

Re: intake manifold gasket
Mine cost me 500.00, a dealer did not do it. All 3.4s will have this replaced

Re: intake manifold gasket
You may want to check out the Oldsmobile Alero forum. There are plenty of threads (incl. step by step) about replacement for the LIM Gasket for the 3.4L. When we had our alero I was quoted about $500-800 from independent mechanics. The dealership quote of $1500 is about average. I ended up doing it my self for less than $100. It is possible to do yourself if you know what your doing.

Re: intake manifold gasket
Sorry guys but please check the date and do not resurrect old threads. Thread closed.
POSTING IN CLOSED OR OUTDATED THREADS: If a thread has been closed, there is probably a logical reason for it. If you feel that the reason(s) for closure of the original thread are unjustified or wish further clarification feel free to contact any member of the moderating team. However, do not start a new thread about another closed thread. Please avoid posting or voting in outdated threads. It merely clutters up the message board and makes it more difficult for fellow members to sort through the vast amount of information contained on the boards. If you have new and important information to add regarding a past discussion, feel free to start a new thread and if need be, add a link to the original thread.
