Re: Convo Spawned from Helmets Thread
I was a little concerned about the weight of the bike when I first started looking at them. It is a little on the heavy side and not nearly as easy to throw around as my 600 was. After putting 1000 miles on the VFR though, I am more and more comfortable with it. The bike is a great compromise from the sportbike world and the sport touring world. The comfort is definitely there. I can put 220 miles on the bike at a quick aggressive pace and still get right back on and be able to do another 220 the same day without the pain associated with the sportbike.
The handling is really nice. It glides through the turns and even jumping back from sharp alternating turns on a twisty road are easy (as long as you remember to look all the way through the turn, it is a sensitive bike, you look there and it goes there - no questions.) The VTEC option is nice too, once you get used to it. If you hit into that powerband at about 7200 RPM you can feel a little jolt as it kicks in, not something you want to be hitting unexpectedly in the turns but nice none the less. The linked brakes were probably the hardest thing to adjust to though. It is a bizarre feeling to jam on the rear brake pedal (only) and feel the front end dive down a bit. Not normal at all! Now that I am getting more and more accustomed to the braking quirks I really like the bike more and more. I already told you my thoughts about the ABS system above, so you know how I feel about that. Honda does offer OEM hard luggage for the bike, but I don’t think that I am forking out the extra $1000.00 (USD) for that, no matter where I decide to take it. I would recommend the bike to anyone. I would not suggest it as the agile 600 you should run as a track bike, but for real world riding I find it to be quite nice. It has plenty of power and I have no complaints in the handling department at all. The comfort level is superb! I don’t know anyone that has one (or has had one as in Saturn’s case) that was not happy with the bike. Oh, and I almost forgot… I think the bike looks awesome too! Nothing else out there short of the Futura looks even remotely close. And the color choice was obvious, it matched my Jeep. |

My bike doesn't match my car OR my riding gear. I'm not THAT bad... But my gloves DO match my helmet. Now, if I get that BEAUTIFUL bike in raw titanium then it will match my helmet and gloves. But I might get a new helmet, like some other loser I know, just for the shits and giggles of it.

So what?
My bike, Jeep, helmet, gear, and underwear all tend to match! Is this a crime? HA HA! Oh, and where are my donuts? |

I saw one exactly like yours today when riding, titanium silver and everything. The dude had his g/f/wife with him, but he didn't wave .
It's a very good looking bike, I hope Honda has provided you with enough heat shields to protect the rear, hehe. You should take of the fender, it'll look sleeker with just the underseat pipes. Great bike! I'll have to hear the V-4 engine, I have a v-twin, but I salivate when I hear all 4-cylinders running down the street and hit the powerband sucking in all the air through ram-air and air intakes. Nice Jeep too, now I see why everything matches.

Thanks. I was out riding yesterday for a bit. I ended up with a little electrical glitch that left me without a headlight, so it was a short trip. I considered ditching the rear fender, and I already have a spare OEM fender, so I still may. The bikes do look much better without the rear fender and rear passenger footpegs, but I just bought some soft luggage for it and I need both the fender and the foot pegs as attatchment points for the luggage straps. I have a few little cosmetic changes planned for the bike, but nothing too drastic. All in due time anyway. Oh, and as for waving... I wave at EVERYONE on a motorcycle, as I think all motorcyclists should, but so many people out there do not. |

you forgot about the boots, and the hats, and the shirts, and the helmet shield, and soon the seat, and the windscreen, and whatever else I find...
OCD is good mmmmmm'k! Saturn, you are the same way, you are just in the beginning stages. You and Matt both. It is only a matter of time, you will see. |

Hair, who has hair?
I would like to retire, but I have many, many years to go before I can even consider that. Besides, I like money way too much! |

30...hell, that was 4 years ago, but I have only been shaving my head for about 2 years (That way the baldness is a choice and not a curse.)
