diffrence in HP series 1 and series 2 3800SC

Wut is the diffrence in HP from a series 1 and a series 2 3800 supercharged
i want to know because i have a 95 se with the 3100 and i wanna put a 3800 supercharged in it and somewhere i read that a series 1 will bolt up to my tranny that i have now and all i need is the motor and computer and thats it, and a series 2 will take a little more time and and alittle more tools than i have.

i dont think series 1 tranny will take a series 2 engine, I had a 91 buick with series 1 and now a 03 gt with series 2 and the transmissions look slightly different. even if they did, 75hp difference will surely make the tranny useless later on.

--------------------------------------------------------

1992-93 3800 V6 Supercharged vin 1

205hp @ 4400 rpm
260tq @ 2800 rpm
8.5:1 Compression
FWD, balance shaft, crank driven oil pump, DIS, hydraulic roller camshaft, integral PCV, Eaton M62 Supercharger
28 lb/hr injectors
1994-95 3800 V6 Supercharged vin 1

225hp @ 5000 rpm
275tq @ 3200 rpm
8.5:1 Compression
FWD, balance shaft, crank driven oil pump, DIS, hydraulic roller camshaft, integral PCV, Eaton M62 Supercharger with teflon coated roots
28? lb/hr injectors
Special notes considering the differences between the Series 1 L & C 3800 engines: The vin L 3800's cylinder heads were the first to feature an integral PCV ventilation system that was found in all subsequent 3800 and 3800 Series II engines. This means that the earlier vin C 3800 heads will not work on a vin L 3800 engine. Also, the only difference between the Supercharged (vin 1) and TPI (vin L) versions of the 3800 besides the intake and assy belt drive system was different connecting rod part number.

1996-04 3800 Series II Supercharged V6 vin 1 RPO L67

240hp @ 5200 rpm
280tq @ 3600 rpm
8.5:1 Compression
FWD, balance shaft, crank driven oil pump, DIS, hydraulic roller camshaft, integral PCV, roller rocker arms, M90 Supercharger
36 lb/hr injectors
2004-?? 3800 Series III Supercharged V6 RPO L32

260hp @ 5400 rpm
280tq @ 3600 rpm
8.5:1 Compression
FWD, balance shaft, crank driven oil pump, DIS, hydraulic roller camshaft, integral PCV, roller rocker arms, M1?? Supercharger, powdered metal connecting rods

Special notes considering the 3800 Series II engines: The series II 3800 is a redesigned version of the 3800 V6. The Series II block has a shorter deck height, symmetrical design cylinder heads & cross-bolted main bearing caps among most of the major differences it has with it's predecessor. The Supercharged version of the Series II engine shares the same crankshaft and heads as the naturally aspirated version but the heads on the SC version have bosses machined for injectors, and the crank is balanced differently because the SC version has beefier connecting rods and pistons. The SC pistons are also of hypereutectic casting and have a thermal coating on their tops designed to reflect heat back into the combustion process.

your high school shop teacher doesnt count.

Hey guys relax. We just had a group banned from here. Don't want to see anyone else leaving.
We're all out here to help each other.
But I do have to ask agian, "What is a 2000 GTO". I own 3 GP's. And have a 1966 GTO. But never heard of a 2000 GTO.
Have a good night.

JHackGP03,

Sorry but please check the date of the thread. We prefer old threads greater than 3 months old are not resurrected. Thank for for your future cooperation. Thread closed.

POSTING IN CLOSED OR OUTDATED THREADS:
If a thread has been closed, there is probably a logical reason for it. If you feel that the reason(s) for closure of the original thread are unjustified or wish further clarification feel free to contact any member of the moderating team. However, do not start a new thread about another closed thread.

Please avoid posting or voting in outdated threads. It merely clutters up the message board and makes it more difficult for fellow members to sort through the vast amount of information contained on the boards. If you have new and important information to add regarding a past discussion, feel free to start a new thread and if need be, add a link to the original thread.
