Roadmaster Wagon Good Choice?

I have the opportunity to inherit a 94 Roadmaster Wagon; I know it's had a lot of problems in its day but don't know what they've been. Wondering if I could get some feedback on these vehicles--good, bad, what the most common problems are, what kind of mileage to expect, etc. Also wondering what the clones for this vehicle are in the hopes of finding another forum here with a little more history.

The clone for this vehicle is the Chevrolet Caprice wagon. Certain other parts from the Roadmaster sedan and Chevy Caprice sedan also fit. Some of the most common problems include, but aren't limited to problems with the windows coming off their respective tracks in the door,(caused by a faulty clip,easily fixed.) Interior trim coming off, or door panels cracking, heater cores becoming clogged, and in some cases, exterior trim coming off. To get an overall idea of problems, just peruse through this forum and see what other members are discussing concerning their problems with their Roadmasters. Overall, these cars seem to have very few major problems with them. I did research online before I bought mine, and there really was nothing but praise for these cars. The problems that were indicated were what I posted above. These cars have been reported to get up to 25mpg, not bad for a V8. One other concern for some owners is the ignition system. Roadmasters made in 1994 through 1996 have an Optispark ignition, which is quite different than the conventional systems made previous to this. It can cost quite a bit to repair or replace as the parts are higher, and the labor is more since you have to remove the water pump as well. You can sav money, however, if you shop around for the parts,and do it yourself, or find a reputable garage to do the work.

I have a 95 RM wagon, that is big, quiet, comfortable, and FAST. around 22-25 mpg on hwy if I can stay off the gas, it's very tempting to nail it. mine has 238k orig engine, tranny, and shocks. I only use Mobil one and its hard to tell if the car is on or off standing next to it. It's a wonderful vehicle. If this one ever goes I'll buy another one without hesitation.
