Re: another curious question
It depends on how bad the whining is. On a GTP the supercharger may make a whining sound depending on boost conditions.
You might want to amplify.

Re: another curious question
When you don't hear it then it is time to worry. Other than that it sounds good to go.
BTW - Don't forget to check the supercharger oil level periodically and replace the stuff for long SC life. I do all of mine X 2 once a year.

Re: another curious question
There's a little nut on the SC you remove to get to the oil. No drain plug, so it has to be siphoned out. Only oil I've ever known to put in it is the GM SC oil, typically 2 squeeze bottles will do.

Here is a tech procedure that will give you an idea of how to do it. Stop at the part where it says to remove the snout. Click here A turkey baster will work fine to remove the old nasty oil.

Re: another curious question
Any GM dealership will probably have the oil, that's where I got mine from. If not, there's websites you can order it from, like PFYC.com and 3800performance.com

Re: another curious question
the second generation eatons have the drainhole. which that same nose will replace yours and easy power upgrade with a overdrive pully. that whine you are hearing is mostly the tensioner spring is going bad on the supercharger drive belt.......since you are hearing it while accelerating.
