Tranny Question
I have a 2000 4runner with a transmission going bad. It's a 6 cyl. with automatic transmission with overdrive and the date of manufacture of the vehicle is 2-00. I'm going to attempt the job myself and in looking online at different salvage yards some of them list the date of manufacture of the vehicle. What I'm trying to figure out is will any 2000 year model transmission fit my vehicle or were there changes made to them at some point during that year that would keep some of them from fitting my vehicle? Thanks in advance.

Re: Tranny Question
I would think that the best way to answer this question would be to call a Toyota parts department and find out if there are more than one part number for transmissions for your vehicle. I am not aware of any changes to the transmission, but that is not really accurate information.
