1990 4runner 4wd problems
Hi guys,
i have a 1990 4runner that had the ADD 4wd system in it. I read and read about it so i changed the ADD to warn Manual hubs(pretty easy swap). Went to the desert and mud to test it and again, no indicator light or front wheels moving. I got stuck):. also when i go into 4low i can feel the gearing turn like it wants to be in 4low but the front tires still dont move.....HELP ME!!!! and yes i did make sure the manual hubs were locked into place.... |

Did you leave the ADD actuator mechanism in place in the differential housing? Vacuum lines and switches?

Re: 1990 4runner 4wd problems
I have the same problem with my 4x4 and everything I've read points to the vacuum lines on the ADD system. Some have suggested pulling the actuator and locking the fork in place to get rid of the electrical and vacuum system completely without replacing the tube... I want to know if there's a good way to swap some vacuum lines and permanently leave the 4wd engaged when the motor is running. With manual hubs I don't see the problem. Any thoughts?
