who's the fastest 1/4?

there are many places where you can get 1/4 mile times for these cars in stock form. I havent seen them but if I had to guess I would say sti 1/4 mile and RX7 in 1/2. Modified I would go with rx7 all the way.

A regular RX7 (all 93's were twin turbo) the STi should have it no problem in the 1/4 and should still be in front at the 1/2. An R1 or R2 would be close through the 1/4 and should beat an STi through the 1/2.

the sti will definately beat any versions of the rx-7 in the 1/2, and in the 1/4, especially in the 1/2

sti is toooooo heavy it will beat the rx-7 quarter mile due soley to AWD, but top end... thats what the rx-7 is good for, plus its light weight.

Are you forgetting 1st and 2nd gen. RX7s, they werent faster but they were other versions that we did have.

he said 93 rx-7, so that means he was talking about the fd3s version. so any versions of that yr we got.

Ok my bad, but thats not what this discussion is about anyways, I want to know what the basis for his thinking is that the sti will beat an rx7 in the 1/2 mile. I'll admit I havent seen numbers from either these cars, but if you consider the weight and gear ratio of an RX7 you would make an educated guess that the RX7 would beat the sti at least in the 1/2 mile if not both. You see, horsepower doesnt mean much. I have 180hp in my jdm b18c hatch, and I beat (what is it?) 260hp? mustang gt's all the time, 1/4mile, highway, autocross, you name it. Yeah the Sti will have a better launch, thats why I think it would win in the 1/4 mile, but maybe not even that, maybe it would only win the 60ft. I dunno, all these are my own educated guess.
