Re: 1992 4runner: Gas smell and delay in starting
Is that something that can be done easily or is it a few days work?

Fire danger
The bigest thing is you are dealing with a high pressure fuel system.
The second you break that seal at the banjo fitting there will be gas everywhere! The mechanic will have bled off the presure copaceticly then tend to the damper with minimal fuel leaking. I don't know about recalls or "service campaigns" regarding the fuel damper. You can call the service department at a Toyota dealer to find out what the flat rate for time on that job is. Good luck Not to be an alarmist but if it is leaking depending on how much it could be a fire hazard just something to keep in mind. |

Re: 1992 4runner: Gas smell and delay in starting
It's at the dealer. Dropped it off last night. Hoefully won't cost me an arm and a leg right before the holidays! Thanks!

Can't go wrong there
It's always best to be safe think how nice it will be to not have to smell that everytime you pop the hood.
Enjoy your holidays! |

If it's the V6, yes. Not sure off-hand if the 4 cyl does or not.

Re: 1992 4runner: Gas smell and delay in starting
If the damper is leaking at the end, could a screw in the whole fix the problem?
