astro van awd axle flange driver side

I have a 94 astro van awd few days ago the axle slid out of the front diff. when i looked onlkine to buy a new axle i noticed that it comes in two pieces the axle that bolts to the one that goes to the diff. My question is can i unbolt the flange move it aside and slide it out of the diff replace the seal and the c clip

I think you'll have to remove the shock and allow the knuckle to dopr farther out of the way to make room to slide the half axle out. The hub is pressed (pulled) onto the half shaft and will likely require a puller to push the axle shaft out of the hub.

The half shaft retaining nut requires a minimum of 160 ft/lb to pull the axle into the hub fully, so eat your Wheaties. 200 ft/lb is maximum, so don't overdo it.
