i just find it odd that you consider the GT-R to be less about performance.

Let me rephrase that because I was wrong. The GTR is on the same level of performance as the Rx. It feels fun reguardless but behind the wheel of the two cars the Rx feels more untamed, out of control and just more fun to drive.
