WRX and similar cars
Wondering what else is out there that is comparable to the Subaru WRX, 5 door preferred, but anything is good. Im looking for something with AWD, manual, and similar performance, any ideas?

Re: WRX and similar cars
Like a brand-new WRX? I have been recently looking at an older WRX, and to be honest, it's hard to beat for the money. Why not just get the Subie?
You could go to the arch rival, the Mitsubishi Ralliart/Evo. Otherwise, unless you're looking at more expensive premium cars (Infiniti G35X, BMW x-drive 3-series, Audi A4/A3) you are looking at domestics with AWD or compact SUV's, but few will have the performance of a WRX at the same price point. I think the Ford Fusion came in AWD with the 3.0L V6 but was an automatic. Going back a couple of years Mazda made the fantastic Mazdaspeed 6 with AWD, 6-speed manual and 2.3L turbo, gorgeous car. |

Re: WRX and similar cars
I recall a while back when there discussions were all the rage that the US spec Evos do not compare to what the rest of the world got (don't forget that Ralliart is based in the UK and were responsible for the FQ cars) which would put a question mark next to it when compared to your equivilant Scoobie.
If it were me choosing between any model from both cars of any age, I'd be looking for a RB5, 22B or a P1 Scoobie or an unmolested LanEvo 6 or FQ360. If a little refinement is required, a B5 S4 is still a very good car as is the older RS2. Newer cars would be VW R32s, B7/B8 A4s (fantastic 3.2 V6), S4s (again). Depends on your budget. Not sure how you can realistically compare a Fiesta to any of these though.
