Only one way you can do this.

Look at the drivers side seatbelt. There is wiring that goes to it. You will need to jumper the wiring so it makes a complet ciruit, thinking that the belt is buckled. That is the only way you can get rid of that noise. This feature cannot be disabled.

Nope, wont work. This feature is controlled by the gem module. pull the fuses to it an the truck wont run. We have had cars towed into the dealership due to crap like this.

OK guys, why bother replying anymore? This guy just left the question, he has one post, and has probably never come back since. Besides, if he's dumb enough to drive without a seat belt, he might be dead by now. But if he's still out there, I'd like to be proven wrong, so just add another post there buddy.

Excursions aren't really that bad for beeing American made. I've drove a few with the PSD and they rock. Sorry I just don't like American reliability. Although its fun watching cars scatter when you come up on them at about 70mph in an Excursion, HE HE HE

Excursion belt minder

Quote:
by MOJO That is the only way you can get rid of that noise. This feature cannot be disabled.

The belt minder CAN be disabled on ANY Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury.
It is a customer preference item.

Belt Minder Deactivation/Activation

Preparation

1. Before deactivating/activating the belt minder, set the parking brake.
2. Place gearshift in P (Park) (automatic transmission) or the neutral position (manual transmission).
3. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
4. Close all the vehicle doors.
5. Unbuckle the driver safety belt
6. Place the parklamps/headlamps switch in the OFF position. (If vehicle is equipped with Autolamps, this will not affect the procedure.)

Deactivating/Activating

1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. (Do not start the engine.)

2. Wait until the safety belt warning lamp turns off. (approximately one to two minutes)

3.Note: Steps 3 through 5 must be completed within 60 seconds or the procedure must be repeated.

Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times, ending with the safety belt unbuckled. This portion of the procedure can be done before or during belt minder warning activation.

4. Turn the parklamps/headlamps on then off.

5. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times ending with the safety belt unbuckled. After this step the safety belt warning lamp will be illuminated for three seconds.

6. Within seven seconds of the safety belt warning lamp turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt. This will enable the belt minder if disabled or disable the belt minder if enabled.

7. The following sequence of events confirm the belt minder is enabled:

l--flashing of the safety belt warning belt lamp four times per second for three seconds

l--three seconds with the safety belt lamp off

l--flashing the safety belt lamp four times per second for three seconds again

8. The safety belt lamp flashing four times per second for three seconds provides confirmation of belt minder disabled.

9. After confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.

Take the battery out of your truck, then you won't have to worry about any of the warning lights and bells going off

Just push in on the drivers side seat belt release button one time...then the buzzer stops. Of course you'll have to do this each time you get in the car but heck, it works!!!

Good luck!

Re: Help on my 2000 Excursion

Last time I was in Tulsa, I saw a guy that had a device that simply disabled the seatbelt dinger, and if the key was turned on, it would not chime either. That would be great for playing your radio at the lake, or even if you were working on your truck. I'll bet there are mechanics that hear that ding in their sleep. It said "Illegal for driving" on it, but I guess that is a personal decision.
