Considering Impala SS
Hey guys, I am looking to buy a 1996 impala ss with a reasonable amount of miles and a solid body. What should I be expecting to pay for something like this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Considering Impala SS
I've seen prices in the last year or so ranging from a little over $5000 to $7200 for one in reasonable shape. These cars aren't yet at the point where their value should start increasing on a yearly basis. Plenty were produced and many were well taken care of by owners who knew the value of these cars, the last full sized rear wheel drive cars GM produced. Check your local ads as well as ads from around your vicinity to get a good idea of prices for your region.

Just do your homework to make sure it's not a cloned Caprice.

Re: Considering Impala SS
Easy to tell, as the 96 Impala SS's all came with a center console, floor shift and front bucket seats. (optional on late95's and extremely rare, no bucket seat/console option on 94's). Also, true SS's have a different rear quarter window, and no chrome exterior side moulding/window trim.
As far as I know, 94's were all black, 95 and 96 could be black or dark burgundy.
