04 GTP comp group exhaust

I just picked up my 2004 GTP comp group yesterday,
1. I don't like the look of the exhaust.
2. I don't like the sound of it, its too quiet

Does anyone know any aftermarket tuners that are making exhausts for it yet?

-Bill

I agree, I dont really like to the two-hole exhaust pipes on each side.
As far as aftermarket exhausts, Im not sure if any companies have really come out with any set ups for the new GTP because it's now a series III instead of series II, but Im sure that they will probably have some in the near future. BTW, how do you like your tapshift?

If you look in the back of the sales brochure, there are available exhaust tips for it, to change those really ugly ones on the car, I may go that route until I get a chance to put a new exhaust on it. I guess I could always have one made, but that is no fun.

the Tapshift is an interesting concept, i like it better than the tiptronic i had in my old 996 C2 but the fact that it is only 4 speeds, it loses its appeal around 100 mph.

all in all its a fun car though, i am still trying to test the stabilitrack, it isn't letting me have any fun lol

this supercharger is only putting out 60 more hp than it's N/A counterpart? at 9.5 lbs boost they must have done allot of detuning to the engine, which means we probably can upgrade this charger boost pressure or rework the top end to produce some good numbers. any ideas?

You can change the pulley size and put different belts on if you wish. Not sure if you already knew this(probably) but treat your charger like your engine, check its oil every so often, it needs changing sometimes too.

Excellent! The boost was 7.5 psi, now it's 9.5! Hope you like the Comp G, you might want to get rid of that resonator, if the new Series III includes that, I know the 2003 style GTP had a HUGE Resonator.

How about this?

Being that I am new to the gtp, i am just going off of what i read here. i have an idea, admittedly i have not even gotten the car into the air yet to look under it.

new headers, either made or bought, off road pipe, electric cut out, running either stock exhaust or a cat back system, but only one tip at the end then running 3 inch stainless the whole way back to come out next to the other tip, to look like a dual tip system. except when i open the electric cut out, it flows into the unrestricted pipe, i know it will take allot of fabricating, but that is all possible, and not an issue, i want to know what you think of the idea? will it work? it will still look stock, I know it will be adding weight to the car...

speeder94,

the 04 comp G is still stock not really fast, i hear about 15.

my 996 twin turbo is a gemballa stage III kit and it better be low 12's at least lol

my 356 is only 95 hp lol so its 1/4 times are not real great im sure but it will handle with mostly any new performance car, i had an E46 M3 and it would outcorner it. lol it is only 1800 lbs though...

here they are, i think ive already posted my 04 gtp
