Revell Mitsubishi Eclipse DSM

hello everyone, I am starting on a Eclipse for a tuner model competition. Now if you have built the Revell kit, then you know there is no stock option, just 3 ugly body kits. What I am gonna try to do is create the stock GSX bumpers. The color is most likly going to be silver ... or maybe a white if silver doesn't look good with my wheel choice.

Here is what I am trying to replicate ...

This is where I'm at, now I'm still need alot of work.

filled in spoiler holes ...

Started on the side skirts, shaved off ... now it just needs a little styrene

engine, I will be rebuilding the Turbo and an intercooler. headers and intercooler piping will also be scratch built.

manifold is steel+gold mix

WHEELS !! ....

tell me what you think would look good on a silver car

Volks will have to be trimmed to fit

the decal was a pain in the @$$, that hood bulge was tricky. and i ran out of decal set part way through I will see if i'm going to use it after I clear.

thats it for now, sorry for the bad pictures.

any comment and tips are welcome. so chime in

Thank you for trying to derice that kit. Looks good so far man. I think there are some of those 5 spoke rims, in scale. But hell, can't go wrong with Volks. And what are they from? They look a little skinny for the aoshima ones. Or maybe just the angle.... That tear in the cf hood isn't terrible either. Some 1:1 stuff can turn out like that too.

the volks are Aoshima, but i have the revell tires on them so it doesn't mess up ride height much. If i use them, i will have to cut the wheel to be skinnier, so they can all fit under the car nicely. the wheels are 1:24 19' and the kit is 1:25, so a bit of a scale difference

Hey nice work on the bumper by the way. I am in trying it and I think I cut WAY to far on the out side vents. It's all good though. You should cast this front bumper in resin and sell it! I would buy it!!!!
I'll keep going on mine but yours will win plus I'm only going off your pictures......
God bless!

I have MOST of it shaved I just need to make the PAIN IN THE @$$.............. supports for the front slants, where the intercooler goes. I cut TOO far into those side vents too. OMG this is WAY harder then it looks, and it looks hard!!!

no measurements, cause i couldn't find any, so I got a pic and tried my nest at accuracy. it's looks good though.

for the intercooler opening I used strip styrene. the bottom piece is a little bit larger and i sanded it to be flush and bowed out to match the curve of the bumper.

I thought the hardest part was the brake ducts on each side.

when I was cutting the hole is the clear part for the moon roof, i cracked the windshield in half

thankfully i have two eclipses that I completed previously, i will have to steal one from them.
