02 Impala control arm bushing

Had new front (vertical) control arm bushings on my 02 Impala put in by a mechanic. These were spare control arms I had and as I was putting new ball joints on and preparing to replace the existing ones, I noticed that they weren't put in the same. He must have lined up the 2 arms the same way and pressed them in. So 1 of them is upside down. By eye they seem to protrude the same on each side.
Looking for opinion if this makes a difference. Will it affect whether it will seat in properly?

Re: 02 Impala control arm bushing

Have you gone back to the mechanic with this. If it were me have him do it over again. In the factory manual it says they MUST be installed in the same location

Re: 02 Impala control arm bushing

Thanks. Figured that would be the case but was hoping as the weather is mild and no rain yet.lol. Just noticed it today, Sunday, and he's not open. Will be taking it back. Oddly looking at the ones already on the car there are the same as my new ones. Both pressed in the opposite way. Oh well, guess i'll be doing it in the rain or cold. Won't be the first time.
Thanks for the response and the diagrams.

Re: 02 Impala control arm bushing

Question, I recently had both lower control arms replaced. They were purchased at O'reilly's and both of the vertical bushings were pressed in reverse (upside down) of known original arms. are you saying here that these parts, though new, are assembled wrongly and I should take these back and request a replacement? My mechanic said there was probably a change in orientation and I thought maybe so. They have been on now 3 or 4 months. concerned about this situation and what it will cost me.

I went to dealer about this issue and found there was a revision and the vertical bushing may be installed either way. It also states for easier installation.

57 - Thanks for that update. That kind of information will be good to know in the future but rarely trickles out of the service departments.
