Re: what kind of torque wrench come with lifetime warranty ?

Probably none because they have to be recalibrated every so often. Craftsmen might but I highly doubt it

Re: what kind of torque wrench come with lifetime warranty ?

I think all craftsman stuff has a lifetime warranty for breakage. I have a crazy ass beam torque wrench I got at sears for like $30. I havent broken that, but I broke some stuff and they replace it no questions asked.

Why do you need a torque wrench for lug nuts? Just tighen them with a 4 way wrench and they shouldn't come off.

Re: what kind of torque wrench come with lifetime warranty ?

Yeah, but you want to make sure that they dont come off, and it would be best if the lugs are the same torque. You dont want to warp anything or have a wheel fall off. I heard of a guy that worked on is car in auto at school. He didnt torque the lugs, his wheel fell off, and he wrapped it around a light post if I remember right.

Go with the craftsman. Best buy there. You break, they give a new one, on any of their tools. My Dad had a hammer from back in his days. The head said craftman, and it fell off. The thing was old, beaten to hell, and they replaced it, no questions asked. I try to get all of my tools from there. Only thing is, when I need something quick, its not exactly the closests

Re: what kind of torque wrench come with lifetime warranty ?

all craftsman and snap-on tools have a lifetime warrentee on them, craftsman usually doesnt ask any questions and they will replace anything snap-on usually asks a few questions but will back up their name. ive had to deal with both of them almost on a daily basis so i know all about it. and they will replace ANYTHING!!

Re: what kind of torque wrench come with lifetime warranty ?

and if you want something really accurate make sure you get a click type and that what your torquing is not in thw lower or uppwer 20% or the min or max torque the wrench is calibrated to just because its not as accurate

those are nice, but the screen is extremely prone to breaking, which isnt a big deal but usually they only go up to 150-200ft-lbs

depends on what you are doing, me being an auto tech student, there are things that need to be torqued more than 200 sometimes, and even if its only 200, the wrench isnt accuarte in the upper or lower 20% so your looking at only being accurate up to maybe 160ft lbs. but dont get me wrong, i love that wrench its very nice it all comes down to a matter of the application

Yeah i've worked on my fair share of cars as well and i can't say i've needed anything torqued over 200 ft lbs with a torque wrench. I could see using an impact on something to torque it down beyond that but...oh well...pointless argument...
