1963 chevy impala

I have a 1963 chevy impala and I have a problem with the brake lights flashing when I turn the key to the start postion. I unplugged the harness for the turn signal switch and the stopped flashing. I have replaced the turn signal switch before because the left side turn signals would not flash. what do you'll think it is and how can I fix it.

Welcome to AF, the dash brake lite or the rear brake lites? Sounds like another signal sw. issue to me if it is the rear stop lites.

I've seen some freaky things happen due to a bad bulb, which is easy to fix. Otherwise you have a short somewhere.
