Also effects several online retailers, hopefully if they go Chapter 11 they can save something.

Re: Hobbico files for bankruptcy
You can bet they will sell Revell/Monogram wich would not be a bad thing. I would not be surprised if Revell is bought by a Chinese or southeast Asian company.
Or maybe the Germans/European investors will take over 100% of Revell, also not a bad thing. |

Re: Hobbico files for bankruptcy
If Revell died and this somehow pushed Tamiya to take over for American muscle car kits, I might not be so sad.
American muscle with Tamiya quality mmmmm. Only scenario where I think I'd be happy about Revell dying.

Re: Hobbico files for bankruptcy
Unfortunatly Tamiya base its scale model market in iternational sales and "tastes"...the have not make any muscle car of the vintage flavor ever...and think they would not start now. Even classic vintage european cars have been ignored by Tamiya for decades. It would be great if we could get some classic Jaguars, Aston Martins,Ferraris and American racing icons from this great manufacturer...but by the looks of things.. it will never happen. We will still have to look for these offerings from small/specialist makers. Is very SAD to hear these news of Hobbyco and the implications towards the Revell brands, they have been making some terrific model subjects and planning for new ones....I was looking forward for their new racing GT40 model, have Two of their Corvette C7R on my workbench right now as well as other street/competition models on progess....hope there is still hope for Revell to keep going and offering their model range.
