Body Work Progress

Well, the body shop called me up today wondering if I could drop by some money so they could order the paint. I was told on the phone that four should cover it. I thought, that's kind of low but whatever. Turns out I was right, they meant four thousand.

However, while I was there I got a couple of pictures and I must say I'm very impressed with the work. The shop it's at is Tripple R Restoration in the AF/PG area in Utah county. I would highly recommend their body work. We'll see how the paint comes out.

Anyhow, here's the pics.

Before:

After:

I didn't have time to get more pics but they had to pull that dent and form two new rockers on both sides as well as a small patch for the rear of the quarter. I looked it over and cant tell a thing. I never thought they'd be able to reform that door jamb but it's perfect. They only forgot to shave the antenna, so it was a good thing I went down there today.

So, now I just can't wait for it to get back and then I can do the brakes, suspension, and the clutch.

Re: Body Work Progress

Very nice looks great so far...hope it will be done soon.

Btw and you will hate me for messing around with color choices again...but seeing it in that grey-ish bondo I cannot help but think that it might look nice in a dark grey or gunmetal-grey color. It would like like it means some serious business.

Plus...the color would have "gunmetal" in its name...that is a guaranteed 23.4% increase in bad-ass-iness. (scientifically proven fact!)

Re: Body Work Progress

Damn you man! I wanted to paint it a metallic blue, I showed you the color on that GTO.

All the while you were checking out the car next to it.

You pretty much said, hmm, that's nice and then wiped your butt with that idea. The crappy part was that you were right. I couldn't stop staring at that Mustang.

NOW, you're telling me to go with gun metal!!!!

Re: Body Work Progress

:evil:Muahahaha.....I assumed by now you figured out by now that I'm pure EVIL!!!!

Its true though when I saw the pics from the body-shop a gun-metal grey option poped into my mind. You know I do have a thing lately for grey cars, they just say "no nonsense" in a way military kick ass sort of way. Plus they have cool names like "gunmetal" or "titanium" gray.

Anyway here are some pics about what I mean:

or

But honestly that red would be beyond cool, especially if you can add some small black details for contrast like on that mustang...maybe a line on the side that becomes the GTC lettering

maybe something like this:

or this

what do you think?

Re: Body Work Progress

since the edit button does not work, i'll double post

Previously i was just talking about the black detail on those last two cars ignoring their main color, just imagine them red. Also replace the hemi or the 340 with GTC

Re: Body Work Progress

Wow, that would actually be a pretty cool idea. Sadly, your first idea will become a reality. They've already ordered paint.

So are you saying that you are going with gun-metal as a choice of paint color Poly?

well officially we prefer the term undead...but yeah

about the gunmetal gray i was mostly messing with him, he'll stick to red, but personally i think it would look even better in red with a black back quarterpanel like on the 340cuda

Re: Body Work Progress

Yeah, It's going to be red. I like the quarter panel idea though. I might have to mess around with some designs to see what I can come up with.
