Fudgin' Hate the DMV

Alright...I know I'm not alone in this hate for the DMV...

So, I have another 240z that I've been driving around on occasion, no big deal got a decent deal on it... payed the guy cash, filled out the transfer of title forms and sent those in.

I go to AAA, use my valued membership to pay the tax and register the vehicle in my name. A few weeks later I recieve my Pinkslip and I'm happy.

At the begining of January I recieved registration renewal notice from DMV, no biggie. It was due on February 20th, I sent the check out on January 30th... almost a full month ahead of time. Cool, I think.

On February 23rd I recieve an email from the guy I bought the Z from saying he got a piece of mail in my name. Odd I think, I got both the Pink slip and DMV renewal at my current address... weirddd...

So he says in the email he's going to send me whatever he got to me in the mail at my work address... It's March 7th, I never recieved anything.

A little ticked off, I email the guy back saying "OMG WTF?!?".... ok, no I didn't say that, but I basically asked what was going on...

Some twenty minutes later I get a notification that his Email is no longer valid. Now I'm like OMGFU2!!11.

So, I call up DMV, get some asshole who doesn't speak english very well. Normally, here in Southern California you get two types of accents: Spanish and Asian. Over the years I've learned to adapt to their slurred ways and lack of enuciations. But, today, I get some dude with a heavy French accent. What the hell?! Are there no english speaking folks who work at DMV?

Ok, so manage to make it through the phone call with out throwing the phone across the room. He says I have to come into DMV and fill out a change of address form. I try to explain to him that I haven't moved at all. I've been at the same address for 5 or 6 years now, I recieved the pinkslip and the registration renewal form at this current address. He tells me that's impossible cause he shows me living in some dump in Los Angeles.

Ugh, ok so I finish up a few things at work, haul my ass over to DMV trying to beat any 'after work' traffic at the DMV so I'm not stuck in some around the block line with a number ticket #65823, now serving #7... AHRGH... I wanted to avoid that.

I stand at the front desk line, I get up to the lady, who's asian... with an accent... of course that's to be expected....

I explain to her my situation in full, what the guy said on the phone... and so on.

She says to me from behind her one-inch thick bullet proof glass. "Anything to do with your car you have to call for an appointment.".......

OMGFU2!

Now I know why they sit behind bullet proof glass. Not for fear of being shot, but for fear of guys like me reaching across the desk and punching her in taint.

She says "But you can go to any one of these DMV offices and take care of your problem, Long Beach is one of the only ones that you need an appointment for car related issues."

DMV, Department of MOTOR VEHICLES... i.e CARS. When isn't the DMV about CARS?!?

OMGFU2!!oneshift!!

Luckily for her... she hands me a form and says " or ... you can fill out this form and put it in the drop box and it'll get taken care of..."

So I weigh my options, drive all over creation to one of the other DMVs or fill out the form right here and drop it off and be done. The choice was simple, at least I thought.

So, I ask for a pen... she can't give me one. Ugh. So I go searching all over the damn DMV for a pen, I'm like friggin Indiana Jones in that mug, looking all over the place for this damn pen.

Finally, I find one that's got one of those teathers to it at the end, you know the ones like at the Bank with the cord that's always too short so you can't really write with it? All you can do is hold the pen at a 45 degree angle and move the paper under the pen to do your writing....

So yeah, after about ten minutes of dicking around with that bootleg pen and filling out the form and I drop it off...

Fucking DMV. I hates you so much... You're lucky Chuck Norris was busy taking over the North Pole, cause I'd call in a favor and have him roundhouse kick you in the taint DMV!!!

I hate the DMV too, the forms are always DAMN confusing, They OVER charge for no reason, and there's always a damn line... did I mention people don't follow directions, so they always stay at the damn booths for too long... when you get ahold of Chuck Norris, tell him to meet me in Chicago... I've got a few DMV potato sackings I need him to take care of.

I got a printout of my record...it said my name was Marylin and I was 42.....

WTF?? Fortunally I looked at it instead of walking away happy I got served....

and there are very low standards for passing your drivers test unless they don't like you.

i dont think its possible for a DMV to hire someone with an IQ over 50. maybe someone should look into it.

sorry to hear your dmv sucks...

That's the same way it is at the DMV I go to, I've never had any sort of bad experience or had to wait in line for more than 15 mins.

Any idea what they sent the feller you bought the car from?

I'd say if you can get the address to where it was sent, take a trip over to the dudes house and pick up whatever it is that was mailed to you. But, I'm assuming you already know where the guy lives.

As for the lady behind the glass, I don't know. I'm thinking you could have came back at the end of her shift. Waited in the parking lot (of course in a ninja suit, she can't be recognizing you now) and followed her home. Then when it was late enough at night, break into her house and find the bitch. Once you've located her, give her the ULTIMATE NINJA PUNCH OF THE GAWDS TECHNIQUE right in the taint!! Your mission will be complete...and I will give you your next assignment....
