I couldn't believe my eyes ...
Last night I am driving home from work and I am on a very long, boring road that is single lane in both directions. It is a main route that just goes up and down major hills/mountains going from one county to the next.
There are no lights or stop signs so traffic generally stays moving, but sometimes you get behind an 18-wheeler and you are screwed. They just do not get up hills well. Last night was one of those nights. I was about 4 cars behind the truck and we were all just cruising at 40 mph. The road is posted from 45 - 50 mph depending on the stretch. There are a couple of legal passing spots using the on-coming lane, but there was no way I was passing 4 cars AND an 18-wheeler so I just held tight. At one point, we come up over a rise, where you can see very far but it is not legal passing as there are some blind hills that you could not see over unless you were in a truck. That is when he made his move ... the truck. This 18-wheeler jumped out into the the on-coming lane to make a pass!!!! I could not believe my eyes. The whole time we were going 40 was because of an SUV, not the tractor trailer. This knucklehead in the tractor trailer actually passsed the guy on a slight incline! What a riot. I can't imagine what the SUV driver must have thought about being passed by such a larger rig on a one lane road.

Re: I couldn't believe my eyes ...
That is crazy. I almost once got owned by an 18 wheeler. I was driving home on a donut, and keeping it on cruise control at 55mph. Speed limit was 65. I had my blinkers on, but apparently the 18 wheeler behind me didn't care. Passed me, (which was fine, as 200 or so already had) but then this jackass intentionally swerves back into my lane early. His rear sets of wheels forcing me into the shoulder. Almost totaled the vr4 because of that prick.
Anyway, pretty crazy.

wow thats pretty funny. one of my friends tried to pass on a slight hill like that one time, on the other side was a 18 wheeler and he had to swerve off the road to miss it...

Re: I couldn't believe my eyes ...
That's a good one. I travel a similar road every day on the way home from work and one day there were like 6 cars stuck behind two fags in a POS pickup and they were stoned out of their gord or something cuz they're only going like 35 in a 55, but amazingly nobody was passing. Finally, I gave the little turtle a downshift and passed all of them... I hate to pass more than say 2 cars at a time but when I'm about to shift in reverse because we're going so slow...
