I found out why my fuel economy was so poor.......

Yeah.... i've recently installed a Blitz Super Sound BOV and have also found that my fuel economy has dropped, and also performance doesn't seem to be as good. I don't have any other mods except for that (got the BOV for free).
I think i might put the standard one back on or sell the Blitz and buy and aftermarket Plumb back BOV -- Andy S |

Well I know that the Apexi S-AFC does it nicely for a piggyback.
Also tha Autronic ECU does a nice job of dispencing with the airflow meter so there is no need to recirculate the bov then.. |

Hi Mick,
you can put a map instead of a/f on a gts-t. you can do it with the Link computer available from AVO. This computer is also fully programable so you can tune the sh*t out of it as well! |

Re: Install of BOV
Yes I have a R33 96 Spec 2 and I just got the car, and a Blitz BOV fitted for me. My car is stalling when coming to a stop and on low revs, the car yard says it has put at least 50 of these BOVs on factory skylines without a worry?? Can anyone suggest why its stalling randomly? My BOV releases air pretty early, maybe 3000rpm if I back off...

Re: Re: Install of BOV
I've got a Trust Type R blow off valve on my R32 GTR. For those that haven't seen one it is HUGE. It vents to atmosphere and I have no issues with this over fueling except on the gear changes when under boost. Again this is such a small momentary issue it isn't even an issue.
Yes I've gotten some absolutely HUGE flame outs but not all the time. Some of the flame spurts have been a meter long and nearly half a meter in diameter as told to me by a number of people. I used to get good flames out of my GTS-t with the factory blow off valve anyways but they do get a bit bigger once you fit a Vent to atmosphere BOV. As far as I am aware of NO aftermarket ecu or ecu full stop, can or will prevent this moment of less air than is actually there. Even with a plum back system there is still that moment of more fuel than air as there is still a delay before that recirculation takes effect.

Hks Eids ??
Hey Guys,
I have been told that a HKS EIDS (Electronic Idle Stabliser) will fix my stalling problem with my Blitz BOV cos its venting to atmosphere. Has anyone got one of these fitted or knows if they work? and how much they are? Thanks |

Re: Hks Eids ??
You shouldn't be getting a stalling problem in the first place. That sounds more like poor setup of the BOV spring. Try and tighten it up first. If you are stalling that means the valve isn't closing properly, or quick enough for the engine to recover this loss of air volumne.
