Believe this or not.
1969 Nova SS, 427 open chamber big block, 216,228, duration 510,515 lift -crane cam, Edelbrock performer manifold, 750 Holley, quiet gear drive, 350 Turbo modified, Griffin alum radiator, B&M trans cooler, 3:43 10 bolt posi, B&M shifter, Cragar wheels, red urethane paint, black Everything is new or rebuilt- expertly crafted-built to run on unleaded high test. This car was put together by the famous BLIND MAN, Bud Beem of Nashua, NH--- with help of friends and family. I've added a few things. He built it for himself if he could ever see! He always liked red Novas. Kinda shocking- he has never seen or driven the car he worked so hard on or 8 others he built......... Is this real enough? Sorry no pictures, yet! |

I've got 2 '66 Chevy II Nova SS's one is completely original with 283 and powerglide, factory A/C, and a beautiful Marina Blue. The other is an orginal SS although it is in use as a drag car right now. I haven't cut up anything though. It has a balanced and blueprinted 350 with NOS. I can't put much more in it without tubbing it to get bigger meats under it. I think that '66 novas are by far the best looking. But I am a little prejudice toward them. All v-8 novas are cool.

I agree- a 1966 Nova V8 in Marina Blue is very, very cool.
Also- Thats is why I never tubbed my Nova- way too nice to cut up! |

Hey I agree. I always thought that '66-'67 novas were very good cars to drag race. The weight is distributed so well in a car that is smaller than most chevys at the time. But I just can't tub a car like that. Maybe I should find one that someone else already tubbed. I have a buddy that has a '66 SS 327 4-speed car. It will really get down to business.

I have my own Nova.
Shes a 1970, Currently has a 350 with a turbo 350 trans. It's pretty decent... But... I just brought home my New Baby, a 383 Long Block. What it has is... Dart Iron Eagle Heads, 200cc Intake Runners, 2.02"/ 1.60 Valves Comp. Cams Extreme Energy Hyd. Cam .477"/ /480" LIFT, 224° / 230° @ .050 268° /280° ADV. DUR., 110 L/C She was also expertly built and blue printed. Other goodies I plan to put in/on include: Holley 750 Double Pump (Or use the Edelbrock 750 I have now) Edelbrock RPM Airgap Intake Super Comp Headers A built Turbo 400 A Eaton 3.73 Posi And Fuzzy Dice. The engine is dyno'd to make approx. 425hp/440ft-lbs of Tq. In a car that weighs approx. 3000lbs it should run in the 12's. Hopefully. I dont care if I cant burn some '68 Chevelle with a monster big block, haha far as i'm concerned we're all on the same team. My biggest kick is finding the poor kids who dumped all of Daddy's money into a Honda only to make them slower with the weight of body kits, coffee can mufflers that sound like bumble bees, stereos that are just loud and stickers lots of stickers. Just makes them easier to track down... She's a work in progress... but arent they all? Everything needs replacement... but sitting for almost 8 Years doesnt help. She's been in the family for more than 12 years. So when I was given the keys, I promised the car that i'd make her right. Well, thats my Ride and my story... and i'm sticking to it! Redneck383
Good luck on the 383. Nice combo. It's little things that count. Only to mention, double pumps work BEST with lower gears. I prefer Edelbrock. If you use highway gears, a vacuum secondary is more friendly. When you get this installed, I'd use a used, but cleaned and oiled, HEI distributor with a new module with 2 medium springs from a Morosso dist kit and a hypertech coil timed around 10 to 12 degees for 53,000 volts of firepower. I have 2 of these and they are sweet and cheap. The fun of owning a car is driving it and enjoying it, and maybe watching heads turn. Who really cares who is faster? If you really need to know, take it to the strip. Me, I just like the sound of Chevy V8's- thats why I have 4! Ricers- now thats funny. Good for squashing ants? Knock-kneed? What's that wing do? Coffee can sound? Did you fart? |

Yeah.... tell me about it.
My original '70 Nova was given to me by my mother... it was a basket case. It would of cost me nearly $2800 just to redo the interior and front fenders. I bought a '72 Nova with a blown up motor for $2000, its 99.7% Rust free compared to my '70 Nova... And its got all new interior. So now i've got to just drop in the 383 and I'm ready to go. Current Car cost... $2000 <New '72 Nova $2000 $1900 <Sold the Old '70 Nova $100 < Cost of Nova. Haha... I love saying that.

Ugh, I hate it when life just keeps throwing Curve balls at you. I've had zero money to spend on my baby hahah.
