blown turbo is it a ct26 or ct20b

hi i have a 1994 mk2 revision 3 turbo and i need a new turbo is it possible to find out which one it is without taking it of the car thanks

I know this thread is old, but I'll answer it anyways since no one has yet. A Gen 3 should have a CT20B. An easy was to tell is looking at the compressor housing. A CT26 should say "Toyota CT26" on the compressor housing, a CT20B will just say "Toyota." Also, a CT20B has a larger compressor wheel and compressor wheel opening than a stock CT26 (a CT26 upgrade or a CT27 from ATS, that's a different story).

Also, if it's a USDM CT26 it will have a metal compressor wheel vs ceramic. CT20B's where always ceramic from the factory.
