Cool 2006 Dodge Charger SRT8 2-door -long WIP-

Hi,

something new:

This is the body of the Revell kit:

After puttying the front-door and the seams around the rear door, cutting away the B-pillar, enlarging the C-pillar and engraving the new bigger door it looks like this:

Next will be the inner door panels, cutting them according to the new door seams.

Wow great start, is the chassis a lot longer than the body or is it almost the same length, how you going to tackle the chassis and interior tub now thats its only 2 doors.

Good Luck mate.

Hi Micha,

great start with a cool idea! Looks good - but I wouldn't want to open that looong door in a tight parking slot

Cheers
Sebastian

wow, that worked out REALLY well, especially being pillarless. Can't wait to see the body done!

I think it's to long, but it does look great. the C pillars should have a bit sharper line to them it's just a little to rounded

Looks a lot better than the real one! It'd be neat if you could do something like this...

Hi energon,

thanks for the photos. Some details look very interesting.

The car that inspired me was this

Lets wait and see, how it the built runs ...

Hi Micha,

great inspiration....but it seems to me that this car was shortened substantially...

Cheers

Seb,

that was my first impression, too. Printing this and an other side-view from this car and comparing the measures of the wheel-wells and the side between the wheels and fenders show, that they didnīt change the length/chassis.

Yeah....that could actually be. The big wheels may give the impression of the car being more compact. What size are the ones you're using?

Cheers

Hi Seb,

no idea about the scale-inches; wheels incl. tires make 28 mm, but the wheels are 1:24, the Charger is 1:25

those big honkin' mirrors also make the window opening substantially shorter.

Now that is how a charger should look!!! Great idea, how are you going to paint it?

Hi Enzoenvy1,

no thoughts about paint yet, first I must make the "hardware" looking right.

One idea might be metallic orange like on the photo, maybe grassgreen with black Hemi-markings, ...
