How To Remove The Cup Holder?
Hey All!
I have a '00 GTP and I want to remove the flip-out cup holders and clean them. Is there a simple way to remove those suckers? I've been toying with the stupid thing for a while and can't see how they can come out without tearing the whole center console apart! Thanks!

Re: How To Remove The Cup Holder?
there is not a way to remove them without taking the whole top part of the center coucil out. it really isnt too hard to do. if i remember right, you just open the center council and pull on it. there are just clips that hold it on there.

Exactly right Jerad.
Flip out the cup holders, take out the center console insert, and then use a large screwdriver to pry up on the snaps holding the center trim in. I think the cupholders and the center plastic are one unit, so dont break them.

Re: How To Remove The Cup Holder?
Wow. Those are some fragile little tabs that hook to the springs. I followed your directions and it worked fine, but I'm surprised nothing broke! If anyone else tries this, be sure to go slow and be delicate and careful! Thanks for the help boys.

Re: How To Remove The Cup Holder?
haha, they seem easy to break...but they really arent from my experience. i did a shift cable in a 98 grand prix and that was a bi*ch of a job. i really reamed on some of the plastic parts

Re: How To Remove The Cup Holder?
Well that's good. Maybe I'll be able to clean it a few more times once the wife gums it up some more! Love ya baby-doll!
