Young lions
There’s an article in a (just about) respectable newspaper today that reads “Young lions (KR, FA, JPM) drive Schumacher to retirement”, hinting that Michael may call it quits at the end of the season if things carry on the way they are going. They claim that MS was dejected after the Monaco GP and that he may quit if Raikonen wins the WDC this year. It also says that JPM has been in close contact with Ferrari to join in 2005. I think this article’s jumping the gun, if he didn’t win the WDC in 2004 I think he’d stay on to give it a go in 2005, im sure he wants to go out on top and no one could argue that he isn’t capable of doing so. As for Monaco, no shit he was pissed, he wanted to win and came 3rd! But what do you think, could Michael really walk away from F1 in 10 races time? It wouldn’t be the same without him.

Theres another article on schumi in another newspaper, this time a two page feature which could possibly give a clue on what will happen at the end of the season. These are the quotes that grab me:
I always start by being pessimistic At the moment, I could not imagine this passion to stop. To me, life without motor racing is unthinkable – having four wheels around me is perfect. You know, in the end, im crazy enough to participate in karting races against boys half my age. No, I cannot foresee a time when this is gone. Theres always a new race to come, there is always new motivation. Why should I be less motivated because I have had success? It’s the other way around, as it is always the next race that counts. The last one is over. You do not win something because you won in the past. I think these words give a great insight into why this man’s been so successful. His desire to win is colossal, I’ll be extremely surprised if he throws in the towel at the end of the season, unless he captures the record 6th title and feels he has nothing left to prove. But you heard him – there’s always a new race to come. Schumacher isn’t a man who measures himself on what he has achieved. Would taking a record 6th championship be enough? |

would winning 10 world championships be enough?
he will keep racing until he cant win anymore. as soon as he is in a position where he cant challenge for the title he will stop racing...in f1 anyway...he might go back to karting and win a few more intercontinental A kart championships |

I see Schumi has caused you so much misery that you choose to pretend he doesn’t exist

It's not because I'm not interested in speculations about ones future - in this case Schum's - that I'm pretending he is not existing. Why do you jump to that conclusion?? |

You might as well end the speculation about Schumi's future
