Actually if I am not mistaken the GC's design did have portability included with it. That would explain why it is so small and runs off of 12VDC. Nintendo hasn't been know for making coincidences.

No, just making bad choices on their media format...

BTW...

I solved the problem... I found a 12V outlet adapter which regulates voltage to various settings and one of them happens to be 12V

Out of curiosity, is the GC a top or front loader?

I have owned PS2 since it came out. I also own Gamecube and Xbox.

I've always been a Playstation fan 100%, but both of those other systems are far better I must admit, but this isnt the place to debate over that. :right:

Well lets get a few things straight...

PS2 is my favorite system, mainly due to exclusive titles...

Xbox (my least favorite mainly due to the controller) has WAY better graphics than PS2 will EVER have.

Even Sony will tell you that the Xbox is more powerful.

The only thing that is comparable on the Xbox and PS2 is the main CPU speed. Xbox has a 733MHz Intel chip while PS2 relies on a 292MHz RISC chip. Those two are comparable.... the speeds seem like a big difference, but the architecture is whats important, RISC vs CISC.

However, graphics-wize the PS2 loses big. Both systems use a CISC graphics chip. The PS2 is 125Mhz, while the Xbox is 250MHz. The Xbox has double the processor memory (32MB vs 16MB). The Xbox has double the memory bandwidth of PS2 (6.4GB/sec vs 3.2GB/sec). Did we get to polygon processing yet? Xbox: 125M/sec, PS2 66M/sec...

I still love my PS2, but it is definately the most UNDER powered of the 3.

b-bOOgie is correct, the PS2 is the weakest of the three in terms of power.

Like he said, this isn't the place to debate this topic. Every system has good games, some more than others, but good games nonetheless. Every system also out performs another in some area, not every system can be perfect.

If you are lucky enough to be able to afford all three systems, then more power to you. If not, don't rag on someone simply because they don't like exactly what you do, just be happy with what you have.

I personally plan on buying an XBox in the future, but would like to wait and see what genres excel on the system. If it doesn't ever suit me, then I will invest the money elsewhere.

As of now, I personally don't think the graphics are all that hot on XBox or GC, but they just came out a month ago. Look how crappy the PS2 looked when it first came out. All systems need time to progress.
