the thing that interests me the most is that I now have another source for that colombo V12...

Re: Hasegawa 2008 250TR??
You can see a definite difference between the height of the hood bubble and attitude of the headlights among other things on these two TR's The black and white photo car has no external door hinges and the heat extractor appears to be mounted lower on the body and at different angle.
The TR in which Hasegawa modeled could well be a perfect replica of the exact TR they kitted, and can only be judged that way.

So i guess what you're saying then is... since factory 250 TR's were built more or less the same and look similar in many accounts, the modelkit they made could be more or less right or more or less wrong, depending on the basis they used. So I guess it's a lesson leart not to jump the gun and shout " SNAP" too soon on this one. Thanks for the clear explanation, mister! oli |

Re: Hasegawa 2008 250TR??
So many of these cars have also been rebodied after crash damage too. The Hasegawa car looks just fine to me...once I figure out how to make a windscreen from sheet plastic

Re: Hasegawa 2008 250TR??
When a Japanese kit manufacturer attempts to make any Ferrari model, there's a certain place they tend to visit--the renowned Matsuda Collection. (Fujimi staff was reportedly taking photos of a 550 Maranello there, and that's how I figured out that Fujimi was releasing the 550 several months before the official announcement.)
So, I went to M.C.'s website, and found that it's 250TR's headlight profile is remarkably similar (pointy and slanted) to the Hasegawa kit. Although Hasegawa says that its 250TR model doesn't represent any particular chassis, I think it's "based on" the 0714, the 2nd production model, and the fourth 250TR ever produced. Matsuda Collection's 1957 250TR (#0714) http://www.ferrari-museum.co.jp/prd_250tr.html Photos on HLJ http://www.hlj.com/product/HSGHC19 Ultimate Car Page's 1957 250TR. The bottom 6 pictures are 0714. http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/car/1...ri-250-TR.html I think Hasegawa's 250TR is a great start, and it's up to each of us to modify the kit into a particular one. |

@ZoomZoom - I'm thinking that I will try making a vacuform replica of the windscreen. It might work but I will know better once I have the kit in hand.

Re: Hasegawa 2008 250TR??
Thanks a lot guys. I guess you wont read any hard criticism in my post: just a contribution to the discussion.
To my side, without any need of research, I have a clean image of the 250 TR in my mind, since a I own a lot of classic ferrari's book in teh shelf, so I just noticed something strange between my "standard image" and hase's mold. Like I said I thrust in Hasegawa (they planes start to kill me 30 years ago) and I'll try some despite I own Hiro stuff (and like Alex point, with a spare windshield )

Re: Hasegawa 2008 250TR??
Interesting Jamme, I think the market for such a kit is pretty big. It's a big release and it's going to sell like hot cakes.
I will buy one, for sure! It looks very very promising, tamiya-like molding, engraving and details. Also the 'chrome' parts look surprisingly good, the rims even! Gold in your hands. And now build it! Olivier |

Re: Hasegawa 2008 250TR??
Did they send you a "test shot" of the kit instructions, so you could have a "test shot" at putting it together?

Re: Hasegawa 2008 250TR??
I ordered one from HLJ along with the wheel set. I wanted to see what the wheels looked like before I ordered the kit. Also, got some other Ferrari's. This is not my favorite Ferrari, but it's a start for some more things in the future.
