Re: r34 GT-T vs GT-R

The 206kw GTT figure is factory @ fly
The 185kw GTT figure is real-world @ rear wheels

BTW: Nismo offered a carbon blade for R33 GTR as an option. Cost (currently) A$650

The upper-blade on the R34 factory twin-wing is matte black - but don't think it's CF.

Standard one's I've seen are making in the upper 160's to low 170's on a local dyno. That would put them closer to the quote 206kw that Nissan quotes. Exhaust, pod, and increase in boost they seem to go up into the 190's.

However in saying that, the GTT will NEVER be a GTR no will it beat a GTR (that is healthy) mod for mod. They are not as detuned as one from the factory, as a matter of fact they are closer to being properly tuned than detuned.

I agree that mod for mod the GTR will always be quicker mostly because of the 4WD launch, but there isn't that much difference in engine capability. GTR's run 1.1 bar in stock form while 2WD Skylines typically run .6 bar in stock form. Just the difference in boost almost accounts for the horsepower difference. I live in Japan and there is just as much of a following for 2WD Skylines (mostly because of the drift scene) as there is for GTR's and you see just as many 900 and 1000ps 2WD Skylines as you do 1000ps GTR's.

Where do you get your information from, because honestly it is so far off it isn't funny.

Stock standard the GTR's roll off the showroom floor producing .65 bar, same as the other turbo models. They have a boost restrictor plug in the boost line and a boost control solinoid.

It isn't the engine capacity that makes the huge differnce it is the head, and the strength of the block and support craddle.

As far as 900-1000ps 2wd skylines, I've not seen many making that sort of power and the onese I do see making that are using the RB26 motor.

Re: r34 GT-T vs GT-R

What I dont understand is why convert a GTR to 2wd? It sort of defeats the purpose of the car in the first place.

Re: Re: r34 GT-T vs GT-R

True but dont you get higher top end with rwd. But I heard the GTR's computer puts more power to the reaer wheeels when it reachs higherspeeds there fore no need for rwd.

I know that car. It's a red R33 GTS25-t with the RB25DET still in it that has been worked hard. It runs low 10's or did. It may have done a high 9 by now, I'll have to check on it. It's not a GTR though. Mario has a purlple coloured GTR which has done a low 8 now.

Re: r34 GT-T vs GT-R

well, that gtst you mentioned isnt what im talking bout. before the vid, it showed the specs, rwd it was stated, along with gtr, something like that. well im not sure it's been awhile since i seen it. and i know red from purple. it was something like... midnight purple, dark purple. something like that. it had one it's headlights out. at first in the vid, it did a burnout, rwd only burnout for a while, and hopped, then braked. you know come to think of it, extrevitmiei, i dont know how to spell it, but that name comes to mind. but not sure if it's them

Re: r34 GT-T vs GT-R

the vehicle you are talking about is Mario's R33 GTR. It is NOT 2wd it is still the normal driveline configuration though the transmission is a Liberty air shifted sequential box.

You can view the car for yourself here http://www.exvitermini.com/

R32 GTR's ran 0.80 bar stock.
R33 & R34s GTR's ran 0.84 bar stock.

If you removed the restrictor boost went up to about 0.95 bar.

.80 with pod filters and exhaust done, not stock.
