Arrow Is this a good idea?

I am really considering this car. Do you think it is safe to buy? I have never bought a car on Ebay before, so I don't know.

1981 Corvette

Let me know what you think, thanks.

Re: Is this a good idea?

Price for Corvette's from that era has remained the same for many years at the $5000. to $7000. range

While there are thousand of items on E Bay I would consider, bidding on a vehicle is not one of them, kicking tires is the only way to buy a car, you may end up with a sore toe but will still have a wallet in your back pocket.

Lets face facts the main reason someone shops for a car on E bay is thinking a better deal, yes there are good deals but also a fair number thats not, and unless you really done major homework how it works stay away.

Here are some facts to consider... Bid only on cars where sellers allow you to cancel after you inspect the car.
Travel or delivery cost - lost work time
Sellers Reputation...You seen the car you like and your now checking the sellers reputation, wow feedback looks great with many satisfied consumer transactions, did you expect otherwise ???, Its a simple SCAM for some sellers to get a new ID and create a list of satisfied buyers.

It's at a dealership...fly out, kick some tires, hop online, bid, win, drive her home.

Re: Is this a good idea?

You need to have the car inspected and you need to test drive it before you buy or bid. That's the only way you will know if it is a safe buy. If you don't do these things when shopping for any vehicle then you are taking a big risk.
Feedback rating is the last thing i'd be concerned about if I was buying a car from Ebay. I would be checking it out before purchase/bidding anyway so I think its no different than getting a car from AutoTrader.com or similar online car source.

Sooooo. Did you buy it? I see the auction closed early because someone used the "Buy It Now" option .
