Calm down its only been 15 mins! You need to have more patience....
But my guess would be is to take a straw and flatten it out a little...

It's gonna be hard to make, I don't know what you can base it off of, I guess you have to start with a blob of putty and start molding. It's not the scoop mouth that's gonn be the hard part, the hard part is where it goes nest to the engine covor (hood or trunk, whatever it is) Off topic: my brother had one of those on his Mr2, whenever someone asked "what is it?" He replied, "it's a rocket launcer" |

You don't have to apply putty directly on the body. Make the piece, paint and glue it on.
That would be a good aftermarket part, isn't it? Perhaps, I should make one and sell it. Anyway, you can make a section cut of the inlet, wrap it with a strip of plastic sheet to make the mouth. Then, add the bone of the back part from a plastic rod or plastic sheet, and use epoxy or polyester putty to build the basic shape. Then file and sand to the desired shape. |

I shall need to make one of these when i do my TRD transkit. I would suggest making one from a 'sandwich' of styrene, similar to how you would make the hull of a simple model boat from a sandwich of wood.

Where can i get this styrene you are speaking of?
but the ideas sound like they could work but flyonthewall how would i get the putty to stay where i want it to while it is dryin so it goes in the basic shape?

i think that a straw might work easier, clatecivic...., but fly on the walls might look better..

Honestly, I would have to see it from a rear view to see how it really connects. I've never seen it before, or atleast I can't remember seeing it. To me it looks way out of place...

Yeah the straw idea won't work after seeing the back. I know I would have to mold that piece on....looks like your going to have to repaint the body...

No need to, because you don't have to directly build this on the painted body.
Can you visualize flat planes like these? ![]() There are four planes that can be made from plastic sheet. Once, you get the base part done, make the inlet with a strip of plastic, and use epoxy putty to make the rest of the top part. |
