what´s the differece between corvette stingray and sting ray

Years and the name basically, although Stingrays, I believe have larger fenders. '63 - '67 they were called the Sting Ray. They skipped a year, '68 there were no stingray emblems. In 1969 they brought back the Sting Ray as Stingray. Even though some people call '77 and up C3s Stingrays, they did not have the emblem, and therefor were not.

Actually, Chevrolet referred to the '68 Corvette as the '68 Corvette Sting Ray in some of the early ads for that model year. Wouldn't Pro Team (among others) have a hissy fit if someone tracked down the final production '68 and restored it as "The Real LAST Sting Ray"?
