92 Cutlass Ciera Serpentine Belt Problems
I have a 1992 Cutlass Ciera 6 cylinder, and for some reason my serpentine belt is being trimmed down. My first one was shredded completely so I replaced it. My second one was fine for about a week, and now it is getting smaller. It is slowly being trimmed. I don't know how wide it was to begin with, but it is getting smaller. Any thoughts?

Check for play or binding in any of the pulleys, make sure nothing is interfering with the belt especially under the crank pulley.

Belts will always shred if not on all pulleys properly- just one groove off (to one side or the other) on one pulley, will shred a belt in just a few miles- been there, done that. Check to see if the belt is over every pulley and in the grooves correctly.
