96 Accord po715 tranny code???

my 96 seems not to be shifting properly and i had diagnostics run on it which came back as a po715. I was told this involved the oxygen sensor. Any help would be appreciated

You were told wrong.

P0715 Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction

Sounds like you are looking for a bad connection or faulty input sensor in the tranny.

Anybody know...is that what Honda calls the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) or are we talking about a different sensor for the torque convertor?

A VSS fault can cause the kind of problem you are having...have you noticed any speedometer or cruise control glitches?
