Stealth will not start

I have tried to start the 91 Dodge Stealth, but it will not start. I pulled the spark plug wires to see if it is getting a spark, but it does not. Any ideas? Does the Stealth or 3000GT have a reset built in the system anywhere? The fusible link was broken, but it has been replaced? Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Stealth will not start

Does it turn over, basically do you have juice int he battery?

I know you said you aren't getting spark, but are you sure you aren't getting spark?

And are you getting fuel?

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: Stealth will not start

I can smell the fuel, but I am not getting any spark. I plug the spark plug wires to check and make sure. Does the Stealth or 3000GT have a reset switch of any kind after the fusible link has been replaced or the anti-theft alarm has been activated? What about any vehicle diagnostic codes that can be read without having an OBDI reader since it was made before 1995?

Re: Stealth will not start

A) do you have a check engine light on, because if you don't there aren't any diagnostic codes to pull. If you do, go here

B) What fusible link was broken? Do you mean you blew a fuse? If so, which?

c) Start tracing the spark problem. Are hte plugs adn wires recent? Pull the plugs, how do they look? How is the resistance on the wires?

If the problem isn't the plugs or hte wires, it's time to check the coils. Instructions here.

If the coils check out, test hte PTU. Instructions here.

Re: Stealth will not start

I checked the vehicle again, and I am getting a spark at the spark plug wires. However, there appears to be some voltage at the coils when I connect the multitester in each individual coil(a set of three). I connected the multi-tester to ports 1 and 2 of each of the three coils, and I got some readings. However, there is no voltage at the spark plug wires. Any ideas?

Re: Stealth will not start

SHouldn't be voltage at the wires unless the car is firing. Also you weren't supposed to be checkgn the coils for voltage...but resistance...out of the car.

So you weren't getting spark, but now you are?

Also have you actually checked for fuel at the injectors...do it to make sure.

If you have fuel and spark, time to check your timing.

Also it would help if you answer all the questions. What fusible link are you talking about?
