radiator fan keeps running
I just bought my new 1999 beetle about four months ago. It is in great condition and only has 42000 miles on it. I havent had any problems with it until last weekend when I drove it on a long trip. On my way back home my air conditioner started cutting in and out but luckiily all it needed was some more freeon and now it seems to be working fine. Then later that day I turned off my car and my radiator fan kept running and didnt stop till it ran down my battery. I think it might have to do with the thermostatic switch but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the ac/fan control module. Normally goes bas and either keeps the fans running all the time or doesnt turn fans on and car overheats. Its mounted upside down under the battery tray.

Re: radiator fan keeps running
What's the ballpark $$ to fix the ac/fan control module?
Our 98 Beetle has what appears to be the same problem. |

Re: radiator fan keeps running
The module is about 250 I think and its not that hard to replace. Just 2 10mm bolts but you have to take them out from under the car because the bolts are upside down.
