Wheel Studs Breaking

Has anyone experienced wheel studs breaking on their expedition when putting
the wheels back on? I had a brake shop have trouble with the right front of my
97 Expedition a few years back. I thought they just overtorqued them. Then today
I had a front end alignment shop break three of the left front studs. This seems
suspect to me now that the studs are failing. any thoughts

usually they break because they have been stretched out resulting from shops using impact guns (without torque sticks) to install wheels.i always get them on using a torque stick and then hand torque every lug nut.and i have broken a few studs also, because the studs were stretched out resulting from overtightening in the past.
